Objective:
To provide detailed instructions on how to troubleshoot common monitor issues
- Issue(s)
End-users stating that their monitor(s) are not working
2. How-To/Troubleshooting Steps
✅ Step 1: Reboot
Reboot your PC to see if that fixes the issue
✅ Step 2: Check Power and Cables
Are the monitors powered on? Look for a power light.
Check the power cable is plugged into the wall securely.
Check video cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, DVI):
Unplug and firmly replug both ends.
Try using a different cable or different port on the PC/monitor if available.
✅ Step 3: Verify Display Settings
Press the Windows Key + P to access display settings.
Ensure it is set to Extend and not "PC Screen Only"
✅ Step 4: Verify Input Source
Use the monitor’s input/source button to cycle through inputs.
Ensure it matches what your PC is using (e.g., HDMI 1, DisplayPort).
✅ Step 5: Test with One Monitor
Disconnect all but one monitor and see if it works.
If not, try plugging it into a different port or a different PC/laptop.
This helps isolate whether the issue is with the monitor or the PC.
✅ Step 6: Check PC Power
Do you hear the PC turning on?
Fans spinning, keyboard lighting up, or startup beep?
Try restarting the PC and watch for any display flickers or logo screens.
✅ Step 7: Try External Monitor or TV
Connect your PC to a TV or different monitor to rule out the display itself.
